Post Conference Recap

Dear colleagues and friends:

      Time is flying, two months have flown by since the 5th International Bemisia workshop was held in the Flower City, Guangzhou, China. We had a truly wonderful experience organizing the workshop and arranging events, and we trust that all of you also had a memorable with this workshop, with the Chinese traditional food and enjoyable culture perform.

      We wish to thank all of you for making the effort to join us. A special thank you to all the session convenors who contribute their efforts to do such a fruitful job organizing the three sessions that covered a broad spectrum of whitefly research, including (1) ecology, viruses transmission and tritrophic interactions, (2) symposium of discussion on the “biotype” or “species” of Bemisia, (3) natural enemies and biological control of Bemisia, and, chemical resistance and chemical control of Bemisia. A special thank to the five invited speakers from different countries for their brilliant presentation.

     Our objective was to provide a forum for scientific exchange in a pleasing setting that would benefit all attendees and the communities they represent. We hope our workshop met with your hopes and expectations.
